If you own a hotel, motel or B&B make sure to verify your business in Google Places. It's completely FREE, easy to setup, and it is a great way to promote your business. Even if your hotel doesn't have a website, you can still take advantage of a Google Places account. What's on my Google Places page? You can add a variety of important information about your business, such as your website url, phone number, address, hotel amenities, payment terms, etc. You can also add photos of your property and rooms, and even allow customers to post comments about your property. Here's why your hotel needs its own Google Place page: Nearly 82% of people start searching for local business on the internet according to a recent Nielson study. If you haven't claimed your business on Google Places, there is a good chance that your hotel will not show up in Google Places results - which means your hotel won't be found by customers searching for hotels in your area. Here's how it works: When a potential customer searches for hotels in a particular city, Google shows a map of the city and pin-points where hotels in that city are located. Searchers can click on your Google Places page, or the red pins below, for information about your hotel. Here's an example of what someone looking for 'Milwaukee hotels' sees: If the searcher clicks on pin-point A on the map or in the Google results, they are taken to the following Google Places page for Hyatt Regency Hotel of Milwaukee: As you can see, the Hyatt Google Place page provides lots of helpful information to customers looking for hotels in Milwaukee. There's no reason not to spend 10 minutes setting up your page Remember it is completely FREE. Now go and claim your Google Places page and start booking more rooms today! Back to Articles Page |
