What is Pinsonic Quilting?
Pinsonic quilting is a process of joining the face, fill, and backing materials using an ultrasonic heat weld rather than thread. Pinsonic gets its name because of the pinsonic machine, which is a rapid, efficient quilting machine that uses ultrasonic energy rather than conventional stitching techniques to join front fabrics, middle filling and back fabrics together with specific patterns and designs.
The Result: A stronger bond of the 3 materials; no pin holes in the fabric, nor threads that can fray or come loose.
Limitations: Pinsonic quilting is favorable for joining materials with up to, but not exceeding 4 oz. of fill weight. Products with more than 4 oz. of fill do not pinsonically fuse completely through and through leading to bunching and fill not being properly contained. For this reason, it is better to join thicker products with traditional needle and thread sewing techniques..
